If you are facing or want to start divorce proceedings, separation or have other family breakdown issues then we can help you through these distressing times. We will handle your situation with care and sensitivity and explain the options open to you. We will be there to support you and help you and will work with you to achieve the best outcome for you. We have Solicitors who carry out an initial consultation with you and provide guidance as to how you will need to proceed. Our matrimonial Solicitors are specialists in family and divorce law and with their wealth of experience they will work with you one on one to ensure you are well informed and can make the best possible decisions if and when you need to take action.

We are members of Resolution and in accordance with the Resolution Code of Practice our approach to family law is non-confrontational and we strive at all times to be sensitive, constructive and cost-effective.

We can offer you advice and solutions on all family matters at our Tadcaster office. Our areas of expertise include:

COSTS

Book a consultation where you can discuss your requirements, your options, the course you need to take and the financial, practical and emotional implications.

We do not offer public funding (formerly legal aid) but we work cost effectively. At the outset, we will estimate what your case and the course you choose to take is likely to cost.

We have contacts who can give you specialist financial advice including mortgage advice and pensions advice. If you or your partner has a company or business which is to be included in the negotiations for a financial settlement, we can put you in touch with an independent accountant who can give you advice upon taxation and valuations. Fees for these matters will be in addition to our own costs.

We can offer a fixed fee for the divorce itself and for other matters such as changes of name. Where there is no fixed fee, we charge on the basis of an hourly rate. If you ask us to take on your case, we will explain the costs in writing to you in detail so that you know what you can expect to pay over the coming weeks or months.
